Manoj is a Ugandan of Indian-Gujarati origin and arrived in England as a refugee during the infamous Idi-Amin crisis. Determined to re-establish the legacy of his pioneer and philanthropist grandfather, Liladhar Meghji, he combined a successful career in pharmaceuticals and created opportunities to provide professional and value creating services in Bradford.
He has tirelessly volunteered and led causes to alleviate inequality and the disenfranchisement of black and ethnic minorities in health, social care services and education, and for the overall cohesion and participation of all communities. In recognition of his “Service Above Self”, Manoj was awarded with an honorary doctorate by the University of Bradford in July 2019. Presently, Manoj is District Governor for Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland 2019-20 for the Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire region, and Chairman of Governors of Bradford Academy, a school that he helped to establish in 2005.
