Jonathon Hammond Booth, DL

Jon Hammond Booth’s initial ambition was to be an auctioneer and so trained as a surveyor; however the opportunity arose to be a DJ in Europe. It was then a natural progression to move into broadcasting, initially in commercial radio and then for many years with the BBC. He now is an author and recognised specialist in effective communication, advising organisations worldwide on strategy and effective message delivery.

Jon and his wife Beverley live in Holmfirth; they have three grown children and a grandson.

With a firm belief in ‘putting back’ he is a Vice-President of Northern Ballet, a board member of York St John University, a Freeman of the Guild of Entrepreneurs, Member of the International Association of Business Communicators and formerly a Trustee of the Royal Armouries and Board Director of the Frazier History Museum (Kentucky USA).

Jon enjoys using his hosting and auctioneering skills to help raise large amounts for several charities.

Jon was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant in July 2018
