Royal Visits

Each Royal Visit is a special and exciting occasion for everyone involved.

Each year The King and other members of the Royal Family carry out approximately 3000 engagements. Royal Visits include visits to schools, hospitals, factories, military units, art galleries, sheltered accommodation for elderly people, hostels for the homeless, local community schemes, and other British and Commonwealth organisations. Royal Visitors may also carry out openings, whether of events or buildings, perhaps unveiling plaques and giving speeches during their visit.

It is the role of the Lord-Lieutenant to host The King or members of the Royal Family when they visit West Yorkshire.

The Royal Family may visit one region for an entire day and attend a range of venues.
